A sold out crowd witnessed the first game at the “New” Kauffman Stadium today. Several dignitaries took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony before the game. Royals Chairman/Owner David Glass and Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders cut the ribbon as the “New K” was officially dedicated.
Later, Nancy Howser and her family took part in a moving tribute to the late Dick Howser as a statue of the World Series winning manager was unveiled.
